Thellavarithe Guruvaram (“It’s Thursday Tomorrow”) is a 2021 Telugu romantic comedy directed by Manikanth Gelli from a script by Nagendra Pilla, produced by Rajani Korrapati and Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni under Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram and Loukya Entertainments. Sri Simha Koduri, Chitra Shukla and Misha Narang play the leads, with music by Kaala Bhairava. It was released in cinemas on 27 March 2021 and was dubbed into Tamil as Vidinjaa Viyazhakizhamai.
What the story is about
Veeru and Madhu, both from traditional families, are set for an arranged marriage. On the night before the wedding, Veeru sneaks out to run away, and runs straight into Madhu, who is running away too. After each tries to get the other to leave so they can take the blame, they sit down and tell each other why. Veeru, who runs his father’s construction company, is still caught up in a stormy romance with a jealous doctor, Krishna Veni; Madhu has grown up terrified of marrying a violent husband who will not understand her. Their night on the road together is the film.

Reviews
Critics liked the cast more than the film. Neeshita Nyayapati of The Times of India called it “a love story that lacks spark”: Sri Simha “performs well, refreshingly choosing a character that’s not interested in being a ‘hero'”, and Chitra and Misha play characters with lives of their own, but the director “falters when it comes to lending the story some depth, or even at making it engaging”. Her advice: “Give this one a chance for the actors.” Hemanth Kumar of Firstpost was harsher, writing that despite a runtime of about two hours the film “feels too long to sit through”, and that the heartwarming tale it could have been “is lost”.
