Rang De: childhood rivalry becomes a marriage

Rang De is the 2021 Telugu romantic drama starring Nithiin as Arjun and Keerthy Suresh as Anupama, usually called Anu. Arjun resents the attention and approval that his neighbour receives. Anu’s feelings for him are different, and their long-running rivalry takes a new form when circumstances bring them into marriage.

The relationship is the central conflict: living together does not instantly resolve their jealousy, ambitions or misunderstandings. This is a spoiler-light guide to the premise, rather than a scene-by-scene account of the ending. The film should not be confused with Rang De Basanti or the similarly named microfinance service.

Who made Rang De?

Venky Atluri directed the film. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi produced it under Sithara Entertainments, Devi Sri Prasad composed the music, P. C. Sreeram handled cinematography and Naveen Nooli edited it. These credits are recorded in the film reference.

Rang De theatrical release and OTT premiere

Rang De opened in cinemas on 26 March 2021. Its ZEE5 streaming premiere followed on 12 June 2021. The News Minute’s contemporary report confirms that it was streaming from that date and reproduces ZEE5’s announcement.

ZEE5’s current page lists the Telugu-language film with a 2-hour-4-minute duration, compared with the 130-minute reference runtime in our record. The storefront’s “Movie Released Date” is the theatrical date, not a second OTT premiere. Keep those fields separate when comparing release timelines.
