Masooda: a mother, daughter and a supernatural threat

Masooda is a 2022 Telugu supernatural horror film written and directed by Sai Kiran. A mother and daughter living in a Hyderabad apartment become caught in disturbing events, and a neighbour tries to help them. The danger is presented as part of a fictional possession story, not as a real explanation of illness or unusual behaviour.

Masooda released in cinemas on 18 November 2022. Its original Aha streaming premiere was 21 December 2022. Cinema Express reported Aha’s announcement before the premiere. Those are separate cinema and OTT dates, not alternative versions of the same event.

Aha currently lists Masooda as a premium horror-thriller, with a 2-hour-40-minute duration and an adult “A” classification. It shows Telugu and Tamil viewing options. Is Masooda suitable for a light movie night?
