Yatra (transl. Journey), also marketed as YSR: Yatra, is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language biographical political drama directed by Mahi V. Raghav. Mammootty plays Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from May 2004 to June 2009 for the Indian National Congress. The film is based on his padayatra, a long walking tour of the state. It was released on 8 February 2019 to good reviews.
Story
The film follows Rajasekhara Reddy’s political career and his padayatra across Andhra Pradesh. It focuses on his connection with ordinary people and his vision for their welfare. It also depicts the political challenges he faced and his work on issues such as healthcare, education and support for the poor.

Production
Producers Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy registered the title under 70MM Entertainments by early January 2018. The director said Mammootty was his first choice, inspired by his performance in Thalapathi, and it took nearly five months to sign him. Principal photography began on 20 June 2018 in Hyderabad. Sathyan Sooryan was the cinematographer and A. Sreekar Prasad the editor.
Music
The music is by K, with lyrics by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. The first single, “Samara Shankham”, was released on 2 September 2018.
Reception and box office
Critics were broadly positive, with several reviewers giving it 3 out of 5. The Indian Express said it also works as a human drama beyond politics. Firstpost and Hindustan Times found it moving but without many surprises. The source is mixed on its commercial result. In one place it says the film did not do well, but it also reports a worldwide gross of ₹28.5 crore on a ₹12 crore budget and calls that a decent performance. A sequel, Yatra 2, was released on 8 February 2024.
