What the story is about
In Hyderabad, a quiet good Samaritan called Rajaji gathers a group of strangers who have been broken by life: an elderly couple neglected by their children, a cancer patient, a chit-fund owner, a jilted lover, a young woman tormented over dowry, a couple whose families oppose their marriage, and a schoolboy who has failed his exams. Sitting on a bench at Tank Bund, he also meets Surya Prakash Reddy, a bankrupt film producer about to kill himself, and takes him along.
Rajaji then makes them an extraordinary proposal: a bus trip to Srisailam, where they will all jump together from the highest cliff. One of them protests and calls him a murderer, but the rest set off with a drunken driver who has his own reasons for wanting to die. The film follows that journey, with the police soon on their trail, and what the travellers learn about their own troubles along the way.

Reception and awards
According to Wikipedia, the film was very well reviewed and did well at the box office, citing an Idlebrain news report; we have not found collection figures. It was selected for the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India, per the Directorate of Film Festivals’ list. Wikipedia’s awards list credits it with three 2007 Nandi Awards: the gold Nandi for Best Feature Film (V. Eshwar Reddy), Best Dialogue Writer (Ramesh Cheppala) and Best Lyricist (Venegella Rambabu); its introduction says two.
The film’s core idea was reportedly inspired by the 1998 Japanese film Ikinai, and it was later remade in Kannada as Lift Kodla (2010).
