Sridevi Soda Center is a 2021 Telugu romantic action drama directed by Karuna Kumar from a script by Nagendra Kasi, produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy for 70mm Entertainments. It was released in cinemas on 27 August 2021.
What the story is about
Suri Babu is the man the village calls on for lighting arrangements, and he dreams of opening a shop of his own. He falls in love with Sridevi, whose father Sanjeev Rao runs the family soda centre, and she loves him back, but her father will not accept him because he is from a different caste. Then Suri Babu is caught up in a murder case, and Kasi, a village big shot, becomes another threat. Whether he can come through it all and win his love is the story; The Times of India’s review calls its ending “gut-wrenching”.

Reviews
Thadhagath Pathi of The Times of India gave it three out of five and called it “a powerful story with a gut-wrenching ending”. Others were cooler. Sangeetha Devi Dundoo of The Hindu felt it was what happens “when art-house and mainstream meet midway”, with “a few memorable moments and hard-hitting segments” but too many mainstream indulgences. Deccan Chronicle (two and a half out of five) found it “partly engaging”, praising the two leads but not their chemistry, and Bhuvanesh Chandar of Cinema Express regretted a “predictable, hardly engaging screenplay” that wasted “a lot of promise and scope”.
