Gopichand Malineni’s Pandaga Chesko (2015) was a commercial success, while Shivam (2015) was one of his biggest failures. In 2016 his own production house, Sri Sravanthi Movies, produced Nenu Sailaja, a success, and Hyper, an average performer. Puri Jagannadh’s action thriller ISmart Shankar (2019) ended a run of failures; Wikipedia says it grossed over ₹90 crore. He played a double role in Red (2021), a remake of the Tamil Thadam. Lingusamy’s The Warrior (2022), Boyapati Srinu’s Skanda (2023) and the sequel Double iSmart (2024) were poorly received. With the romantic drama Andhra King Taluka (2025), directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigolla, he tried to move away from commercial formulas; it received mixed reviews. In May 2026 his new production house, RAPO Cinematics, announced RAPO23, a science-fiction thriller that he is writing and directing himself.
