Vishwak Sen (born Dinesh Naidu on 29 March 1995) is an Indian actor, director, editor and screenwriter in Telugu cinema. He made his lead debut in Vellipomakey (2017) and his directing debut with Falaknuma Das (2019). His notable films include Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi, HIT: The First Case, Ori Devuda, Das Ka Dhamki and Gaami.
Early life
Vishwak Sen was born in Hyderabad as Dinesh Naidu. On his father’s suggestion, and following numerology, he changed his name before entering films.
Early roles
He first acted in Bangaru Babu (2009). His lead debut, Vellipomakey (2017), drew above-average reviews, and The Times of India called him a natural as Chandu. In 2018 he starred in Tharun Bhascker‘s Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi, a well-reviewed hit.
Directing debut
He directed Falaknuma Das (2019), a remake of Angamaly Diaries, which drew mixed reviews but was praised for its portrayal of Hyderabad’s Old City.
HIT and after
He then starred in HIT: The First Case (2020), produced by Nani, which was well reviewed. He followed it with Paagal (2021), Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam and Ori Devuda (both 2022), the last a remake of the Tamil Oh My Kadavule.
Recent work
His second film as director, Das Ka Dhamki (2023), in which he plays a dual role, got mixed reviews but praise for his performance, music, action and cinematography. He appeared in Boo on JioCinema. In 2024 he played an Aghora in Gaami, which opened to positive reviews.
