Story

Venkatadri, a tough bodyguard, is hired to protect the family of Varadarajula Naidu and escorts Naidu’s college-going daughter Keerthi to classes. Fed up with being watched, Keerthi and her friend call him from a private number to distract him. Venkatadri falls for the mystery caller without knowing she is Keerthi, and she begins to fall for him too.

Cast

• Venkatesh as Venkatadri
• Trisha as Keerthi
• Prakash Raj as Varadarajula Naidu
• Saloni Aswani as Keerthi’s friend Swathi

Production

After deciding on the remake, Bellamkonda Suresh and Venkatesh first approached Siddique, director of the original. He declined, having already remade it in Tamil as Kaavalan and in Hindi, and felt a third time would be overkill. Gopichand Malineni then took over. The first look was released in August 2011, and action scenes were shot at an aluminium factory in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

Music

S. Thaman composed the music, released by Aditya Music. The audio was launched at Shilpakala Vedika on 13 December 2011.

Reception

Reviews were generally positive. Hindustan Times gave it 3 out of 5 and called it a perfect family entertainer. Fullhyd.com rated it 7/10 for having the right ingredients in the right mix. Cinegoer.com recommended it, remarking that Venkatesh’s films move quietly towards their goal.
