Bimbisara

Is Bimbisara a historical film?

Bimbisara is a Telugu fantasy-action film about an ancient ruler transported into the modern world. A magical mirror connects the two periods. Although the central character has a royal name, the time travel and supernatural events belong to the film’s fictional story; this is not a documentary about the historical ruler of Magadha.

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram plays the central role. Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha, Vivan Bhatena and Prakash Raj are among the other principal cast members. The official ZEE5 listing identifies it as fantasy, action and period drama, and supplies the viewing option.

Director and music credits

Mallidi Vassishta wrote and directed Bimbisara, produced under N. T. R. Arts. Chota K. Naidu handled cinematography and Tammiraju edited it. The film’s reference record separates the music jobs: Chirrantan Bhatt and M. M. Keeravani have song credits, while Keeravani composed the background score. The combined music field above should not be read as identical credits for both composers.

Release date versus OTT premiere

Bimbisara released in cinemas on 5 August 2022. ZEE5’s streaming premiere followed on 21 October 2022; the platform itself gives that premiere date. These are two different stages of the film’s release.

ZEE5 lists a 2-hour-20-minute version, compared with the 146-minute theatrical runtime in our film record. Check the listing for the version and language offered in your region. Its current page was checked on 3 October 2026; a subscription may be required.
