Naveen Chandra (born 2 December 1988) is an Indian actor who works in Telugu and Tamil films. He debuted in Sambhavami Yuge Yuge (2006), was noticed for Andala Rakshasi (2012), and has since moved between lead and supporting roles. His notable films include Tripura (2015), Nenu Local (2017), Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna (2020), Jigarthanda DoubleX (2023) and Eleven (2025).
Early life
Naveen Chandra was born in Secunderabad and grew up in Ballari, Karnataka. He earned a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and worked as a multimedia animator before entering films.
Early films
He made his Telugu debut in Sambhavami Yuge Yuge (2006), credited as Anji, and later appeared in Kalyanam as Chandu. His first Tamil lead was Pazhaniappa Kalloori, credited as Pradeep. His next Tamil film, Agarathi, was never released.
Andala Rakshasi
His role as Surya in the Telugu film Andala Rakshasi (2012) won praise from audiences and critics.
Later roles
In the bilingual Dalam he played a former Naxalite struggling to return to normal life. For Sathyashiva’s Sivappu (2014), he spent two weeks living incognito as a labourer at a friend’s construction company to prepare. He was also signed for the second lead in the Tamil film Brahman and the lead in C. V. Kumar’s Sarabham.
Recent work
Naveen Chandra appeared in Miss India, starring Keerthy Suresh and directed by Narendra Nath. His films Month of Madhu and Jigarthanda DoubleX were released in 2023, and Eleven followed in 2025.
