Sreeleela is an American-born actress of Indian origin who works mainly in Telugu cinema. After a lead debut in the Kannada film Kiss (2019), she moved to Telugu with Pelli SandaD (2021) and became widely known through Dhamaka (2022), which won her the SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Telugu, Bhagavanth Kesari (2023) and Guntur Kaaram (2024).
She was born on 14 June 2001 into a Telugu family in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Bengaluru, according to Wikipedia; Wikidata gives the same date. Her maternal grandparents are from Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. She trained in Bharatanatyam as a child and, alongside her film work, studied medicine at DY Patil University in Navi Mumbai, graduating with an MBBS degree in February 2026.
Career
She first appeared in the Telugu film Chitrangada (2017), playing the younger version of Sindhu Tolani’s character. Director A. P. Arjun saw her photographs on social media and cast her as the lead in Kiss, which did well at the box office; Bharaate, opposite Sriimurali, followed a month later.
In Pelli SandaD, opposite Roshan Meka, her performance was well received although the film drew negative reviews. She then starred opposite Ravi Teja in Dhamaka, a major box-office success. In 2023 she appeared with Ram Pothineni in Skanda, which underperformed, and in Anil Ravipudi’s Bhagavanth Kesari with Nandamuri Balakrishna, one of the year’s highest-grossing Telugu films, which brought her a Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Aadikeshava and Extra Ordinary Man (2023) had low returns.
In 2024 she played the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu in Guntur Kaaram, whose song “Kurchi Madathapetti” became popular online, and danced in “Kissik” with Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2: The Rule. Her 2025 films were Robinhood, with Nithiin, the bilingual Junior, and Mass Jathara, again with Ravi Teja, in which she played Tulasi. Our records also list her in Ustaad Bhagat Singh (2026) with Pawan Kalyan.
