Shailaja Reddy Alludu (transl. Shailaja Reddy’s Son-in-law) is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language romantic comedy written and directed by Maruthi and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and P. D. V. Prasad under Sithara Entertainments. It stars Naga Chaitanya, Anu Emmanuel and Ramya Krishna, with Naresh, Murali Sharma and Vennela Kishore in supporting roles. Released on 13 September 2018 to mixed reviews, it was, according to the source, an average grosser.
Story
Chaitanya, known as Chaitu, is the son of an egotistical businessman whose arrogance has already wrecked his daughter’s wedding plans. Chaitu falls for Anu Reddy, an artist with a headstrong attitude that even impresses his father. Their wedding plans hit trouble when they discover that Anu’s mother, Shailaja Reddy, is a domineering village leader with ambitions of her own for her daughter.

Release
The film was first set for 30 August 2018 but was postponed because of the 2018 Kerala floods. It opened on 13 September 2018. According to the source, it did well in overseas markets over its first weekend and ended its run as an average grosser.
Reception
The Times of India gave it 3 out of 5 and called it a safe festive release, with some preaching, some family drama and some humour. Hindustan Times gave it 2 out of 5, calling it a formulaic commercial entertainer about a sincere son-in-law that never tries to be more. Ramya Krishna was nominated for the SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actress (Telugu), and Prudhvi Raj for Best Comedian.
