Krishna Vrinda Vihari is a 2022 Telugu romantic comedy directed by Anish R. Krishna and produced by Usha Mulpuri under Ira Creations, starring Naga Shaurya and Shirley Setia. What the story is about

Krishna Chari grows up in a strict, orthodox Brahmin family and lands a software job in Hyderabad, where he falls for his colleague Vrinda the moment he sees her. Vrinda is stubborn and keeps turning him down because of a personal issue she is reluctant to share, but Krishna keeps trying, and when she finally tells him, he accepts her as she is. Winning her over turns out to be the easy part: the real challenge is getting his traditional family to agree to the match, and the trick he uses to do it lands him in serious trouble.

Making and music

The film was announced on 16 October 2020 and launched on 28 October under the working titles NS22 and IRA4; shooting began on 9 December 2020, and the title Krishna Vrinda Vihari was unveiled on 22 January 2022. Mahati Swara Sagar composed the music, his fourth film with Naga Shaurya after Jadoogadu, Nartanasala and Chalo, and Saregama took the audio rights. The singles were “Varshamllo Vennella”, sung by Aditya RK and Sanjana Kalmanje (9 April 2022), and “Emundi Ra”, sung by Haricharan (4 May 2022).

Release and reception

The film was first scheduled for 22 April 2022, then moved to 20 May and 24 June before finally opening on 23 September. Neeshita Nyayapati of The Times of India gave it 2 out of 5, calling it a cliché rom-com that “needed better writing and direction for it to work” and leaned too heavily on “shoddily written light-hearted moments”. News18 Telugu published a closing-collections report for the film, but Wikipedia does not carry a figure from it, so we have none to give.
