Nannaku Prematho (transl. To Father, with Love) is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action drama written and directed by Sukumar and produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra, with Bhogavalli Bapineedu and Reliance Entertainment. Set in London, it stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in his 25th film, with Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad and Rakul Preet Singh. Released on 13 January 2016 to positive reviews, it was, according to the source, one of the year’s biggest Telugu successes.
Story
Abhiram, the youngest son of a London-based entrepreneur, sets up his own engineering firm. When he learns his father has only a month to live, his father reveals that he was once a wealthy magnate ruined by a deceitful associate, Krishna Murthy Kautilya. Abhiram launches a 30-day plan, using intellect and manipulation, to bring down Kautilya’s empire and fulfil his father’s last wish.

Production
Sukumar wrote the story in April 2015, and shooting began that summer with a 40-day schedule in the United Kingdom. There the crew used the MRMC Bolt, the world’s fastest camera robot, for high-speed shots. Filming continued near Toopran in Hyderabad and in Spain, while Sukumar also produced Kumari 21F. It wrapped on 30 December 2015. The teaser became the most liked and viewed Telugu teaser of its time.
Music
Devi Sri Prasad composed the music in his fifth film with both NTR Jr. and Sukumar, and Junglee Music bought the audio rights. He dedicated the album to his late father, the writer Satyamurthy, at the audio launch on 27 December 2015. NTR Jr. sang the jazz-style number “Follow Follow”. Behindwoods rated the album 4 out of 5.
Release and remake
The film opened worldwide on 13 January 2016 to positive reviews and was successful at the box office. It was remade in Bengali as Baazi (2021).
