Story
In Hyderabad, Krishna saves Sirisha from men harassing her on the street, and the two discover they both come from Rayalaseema. The story then moves to Krishna’s home, where his father, a respected don known as Anna, dispenses his own justice. Anna, now in his sixties, always puts the welfare of the people of Rayalaseema first.

Production
The project was confirmed in November 2013, and shooting began on 26 December 2013 after a simple launch. A song featuring Mohan Babu and 2,000 extras was shot at Ramoji Film City in January 2014. The title Rowdy was chosen over options such as Ottu and Annagaru. Filming wrapped on 21 February 2014 after just 30 working days. It used sync sound and a three-camera setup to reduce post-production work, and included an 11-minute action sequence with Mohan Babu and Vishnu. Sai Karthik composed the music and Satish Mutyala was the cinematographer.
Release
The film opened on 3 April 2014 in the United States and 4 April worldwide, and was also dubbed into Hindi.
Reception and box office
Critics praised the narrative and the performances of Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu and Jayasudha. According to the source, it earned ₹11.13 crore in its first weekend and a worldwide share of ₹33 crore by the end of its second week.
