Prema Ishq Kaadhal

Prema Ishq Kaadhal (transl. Love, Love, Love) is a 2013 Telugu anthology romantic comedy directed by Pavan Sadineni and produced by Bekkam Venugopal of Lucky Media. It stars Harshvardhan Rane, Sree Vishnu, Harish Verma, Vithika Sheru, Ritu Varma and Sreemukhi. It was released on 6 December 2013.

Concept

The title combines three words for love: prema in Telugu, ishq in Hindi and kaadhal in Tamil. The film tells three stories of failed love side by side.

Story

In the first story, Randy runs a band at his café. Sarayu, who admires his talent, encourages him to play on a bigger stage, and they fall in love. His concert makes him famous and turns music into a full-time career, but his new schedule leaves no time for her, and the distance begins to strain their relationship.

Development

Pavan Sadineni and producer Bekkam Venugopal worked on the story from January 2012 to March 2013. During that time Sadineni made the short film Bewars, shot by Karthik Gattamneni and starring Vishnu Vardhan, both of whom joined this film. Harshvardhan Rane was cast as a rock star and also choreographed the climax song. Vithika Sheru, his screen partner, doubled as the film’s stylist.

Filming

Principal photography began on 9 April 2013 and took 50 days. Major scenes were shot in a coffee shop set built specially at Nanakramguda. The producer planned to show the film to 100 city students and make changes based on their responses.

Music

Shravan Bharadwaj composed the six-song soundtrack, released by Madhura Audio on 24 October 2013, and Gowtham Nerusu edited the film.
