Bhagyashri Borse (born 6 May 1999) is an Indian actress who works mainly in Telugu and Tamil films. After brief appearances in two Hindi films, she made her debut as a lead in South Indian cinema with the Telugu film Mr. Bachchan (2024). That role won her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut in Telugu.

Early life and education

Borse was born in Aurangabad, now called Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, in Maharashtra. She spent seven years of her schooling in Lagos, Nigeria, before her family returned to India. She later studied business management in Mumbai and worked as a model at the same time.

Beginnings in Hindi cinema

Her first screen work was in Hindi cinema, with cameo appearances in Yaariyan 2 (2023) and Chandu Champion (2024). These small parts came before her move to Telugu films.

Telugu debut with Mr. Bachchan

Borse entered Telugu cinema as the female lead of Mr. Bachchan (2024), directed by Harish Shankar and starring Ravi Teja. Critics took note of her work. One review said the director gave his heroine room to stand out within a commercial film. Deccan Chronicle later named her among the rising talents in Telugu cinema and pointed to how quickly audiences had come to recognise her after she moved from modelling.

Kingdom and later films
