Nidhhi Agerwal is an Indian actress who works mainly in Telugu and Tamil films. A former Miss Diva contestant, she made her screen debut in the Hindi dance film Munna Michael (2017), which won her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut, and moved into Telugu cinema the following year. Her most successful Telugu film to date is the action film iSmart Shankar (2019).

Early life and education

Agerwal was born in Hyderabad and grew up in Bengaluru. Her year of birth is reported inconsistently as either 1992 or 1993. She went to school at Vidyashilp Academy in Bengaluru and then graduated in business management from Christ University in the same city. She is trained in ballet, and in addition to Hindi she understands and speaks Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

Pageant and Hindi debut

Agerwal took part in Miss Diva Universe 2014, where she was a finalist. In 2016 the director Sabbir Khan announced that she had been chosen, from among 300 candidates, as the female lead of his film Munna Michael, opposite Tiger Shroff. As part of the deal she was asked to sign a clause promising not to date anyone until filming was complete. The film drew mixed to negative reviews, but her performance brought her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.

Telugu films

Her Telugu debut came in 2018 with Savyasachi, opposite Naga Chaitanya. The film did not do well commercially, but it earned her a SIIMA nomination for Best Female Debut – Telugu.

She had two Telugu releases in 2019. Mr. Majnu, with Akhil Akkineni, was unsuccessful, while iSmart Shankar, opposite Ram Pothineni, was a commercial hit that ran in cinemas for more than 100 days.

In 2022 she appeared in Hero alongside the newcomer Ashok Galla, which received mixed reviews. She then played Panchami in the period film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, released in July 2025, which failed at the box office.

Tamil films

Agerwal made her Tamil debut in 2021 opposite Silambarasan in Eeswaran, which drew mixed reviews and did average business. Bhoomi, with Jayam Ravi, followed the same year and was poorly reviewed. Her next Tamil film was more successful: Magizh Thirumeni’s action thriller Kalaga Thalaivan (2022), with Udhayanidhi Stalin, was well received by critics.

Music videos

Alongside her film work she has appeared in several music videos:

  • “Unglich Ring Daal De”, sung by Jyotica Tangri (2019)
  • “AAHO! Mittran Di Yes Hai” with Badshah (2019)
  • A recreation of Altaf Raja’s song “Saath Kya Nibhaoge”, opposite Sonu Sood
