Sahasam (transl. Courage) is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language action-adventure film directed by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti and produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. It stars Gopichand and Taapsee Pannu, with Shakti Kapoor, Paru Gambhir and Ali in supporting roles. Released on 12 July 2013 to positive reviews, it has since gained a cult following for its unusual narrative and technical finish.
Story
In 2003, a Pakistani archaeologist hunting for the hidden treasure of King Kanishka finds the box that holds the map. Its key is a Garuda locket. A feared terrorist, Sultan, seizes the box and forces the researchers to work for him. In 2013, Gautham, a brave but money-minded security guard in Hyderabad who dreams of easy riches, finds himself drawn into the story of that treasure.

Production and music
The film reunited Gopichand with Yeleti after Okkadunnadu and was shot mostly in Ladakh and Hyderabad. It was made under the working title Jackpot, and the first look was released on the eve of Ugadi 2013. Sri composed the music, with lyrics by Anantha Sreeram. According to the source, T-Series bought the audio rights for ₹2 million. The album, launched on 2 June 2013, was praised for its melody and classic feel.
Reception
The Times of India applauded Yeleti’s attempt at an adventure film, a rarity in Telugu. Idlebrain gave it 4 out of 5 for the producers’ courage and the director’s commitment to his subject. 123telugu.com compared its best moments to Indiana Jones.
Box office
After several postponements, the film was released worldwide by Reliance Entertainment in India and Bluesky Cinemas overseas. According to the source, it collected a distributor share of ₹13.5 crore. That made it profitable for the producers but a small loss for distributors. It was later dubbed into Tamil and into Hindi as The Real Jackpot.
