Ammu: story, cast and viewing guide

Ammu is a Telugu drama thriller built around domestic abuse, rather than a light relationship comedy. Aishwarya Lekshmi leads the film, with Naveen Chandra and Bobby Simha in the principal cast. The official Prime Video listing describes a marriage that becomes a repeated cycle of violence, and Ammu’s effort to break free with an unexpected ally. That is a spoiler-light introduction to the conflict, not a retelling of its resolution.

Who made Ammu?

Charukesh Sekar wrote and directed the film. Karthik Subbaraj’s credit is creative producer, not director; Kalyan Subramaniam and Kaarthekeyen Santhanam are the producers associated with Stone Bench Films. Mint’s contemporary announcement distinguishes those responsibilities. This matters when looking up the film through one of its makers: a production association is not a directing credit.

Release date and official viewing link

Ammu launched on Prime Video on October 19, 2022. The date appears in the platform’s official trailer announcement and the contemporary release report. It is the original digital release, not a later theatrical-to-OTT interval. Use the Ammu OTT tracker for the source-linked streaming record.

The Prime page was accessible in this check and offered a joining option. It lists a running time of 2 hours 16 minutes and Telugu audio, alongside other language options. Open the official listing with your own account to check access, audio and subtitles in your country; this page does not guarantee worldwide access or current subscription terms.

Content notes before choosing the film

Domestic violence is central to the premise. Prime’s advisory also lists violence, alcohol, smoking, strong language and sexual content. Consult the platform’s local classification before viewing with children. This is a fictional film guide, not advice on handling an abusive relationship.
