Satya Krishnan is an Indian actress who works in Telugu films. She made her debut in Dollar Dreams (2000) and is best known as Anitha in the drama Anand (2004), which won her a Nandi Award. She has since appeared in supporting roles in films such as Bommarillu (2006), Dookudu (2011), Lovely (2012), Bhale Bhale Magadivoy (2015) and Little Hearts (2025).
Early life
Satya Krishnan was born in Hyderabad. She studied hotel management, worked at the Taj Hotel in Hyderabad, and once hoped to become an air hostess.
Debut
She entered films in 2000 with Sekhar Kammula‘s Dollar Dreams and then worked at BNP Paribas Bank in Punjagutta.
Anand
Four years later, Kammula offered her a role in Anand (2004). She quit her job to act full time and said the character was very close to her real self. The performance won her a Nandi Award.
Supporting roles
She went on to appear in Bommarillu, Premante Inte, Modati Cinema, Ullasamga Utsahamga and Vinayakudu. Reviewing Lovely (2012), The Hindu said she got some of the film’s best lines but warned she risked being typecast in firebrand roles.
Lead role and web series
Her first lead role came in Posani Krishna Murali‘s Mental Krishna (2009), which was not well received. In 2020 she appeared in the sitcom web series Amrutham Dhvitheeyam, the third instalment of the Amrutham franchise.
