S/O Satyamurthy is a 2015 Telugu-language action drama written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by S. Radha Krishna under Haarika & Haasine Creations. It is built around three men who approach life in very different ways: one follows his heart, one relies on his brain and one on his brawn. Allu Arjun heads a large ensemble cast, and the film’s central theme is a son’s determination to protect his late father’s good name.
Story
Viraj Anand is the son of Satyamurthy, a businessman known for his principles. When his father dies suddenly in a road accident, Anand inherits a large fortune, but also finds that his father left behind debts of roughly the same size. A family friend, Paida Sambasiva Rao, suggests declaring bankruptcy to shield the family’s personal wealth. Anand refuses, because he does not want his father’s reputation damaged, and hands over everything to the creditors.
With the family’s comfortable life gone, Anand takes a job as a wedding planner. On an assignment in Ooty he meets Sameera and falls in love with her, only to discover that she is Sambasiva Rao’s daughter. Sambasiva Rao, who is still owed money, blames Satyamurthy for a land deal that went wrong, since the property is now held by a feared strongman, Devaraj Naidu. To win Sameera and clear his father’s name, Anand promises to bring back the original land papers within four weeks. How he tries to get them from Devaraj is the engine of the rest of the film, and this summary leaves the outcome for the viewer.

What critics said
The article describes generally positive reviews that credited Allu Arjun's performance and the humour, while several critics found the film long and the writing below Trivikram Srinivas's usual standard.
- The Hindu (Sangeetha Devi Dundoo) enjoyed the lively drama and the comedy of Ali and Brahmanandam, praised Allu Arjun, and named the length as the film's biggest undoing.
- The Hans India (Pranitha Jonnalagedda) found moments of crazy laughter but felt the writing did not excite, given how high Trivikram's benchmark is.
- Outlook India (Madhavi Tata) felt the screenplay has too many sub-plots, but that the dialogue sparkles and the humour is a “big draw”.
- The Times of India (Hemanth Kumar) said it works as an idea that leaves you reflecting on your own life, but leaves a lot to be desired as cinema.
- Deccan Chronicle (Suresh Kavirayani) missed the director's trademark punch dialogue and called the screenplay so-so.
- CNN-IBN (Karthik Keramalu) called it an “inconsistent drama with over-the-top action and a grand message”.
- IANS described a predictable, sloppy family drama that lacks the magic of Trivikram's Athadu.
Box office: the article reports a global gross of ₹90.5 crore and a net of ₹51.9 crore over the full run.
