Terror (also titled Oka Polisodi Katha) is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action thriller written and directed by Satish Kasetty and produced by Shaikk Mastan. Srikanth plays the lead, with Nikita, Ravi Varma, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Prudhviraj in supporting roles. It was released worldwide on 26 February 2016. After a positive reception it gained more screens and became a box-office hit.

Story

Vijay is an honest police officer who tries to work with integrity but sometimes has to give in to pressure from his superiors and the government. After a raid on a club owned by an MLA, he is forced to hand back the money he seized. When he learns of an imminent terror attack on the city, he has to act before time runs out, even though politicians and people in his own department are involved.

Style

The film sticks closely to its genre. It has neither song sequences nor comedy scenes, and it avoids the usual commercial compromises of Telugu thrillers.

Music

Sai Karthik composed the songs, among them “O Lala O Lala”, “Dil Ka Diwana” and “Okkasari”.

Release

The film opened worldwide on 26 February 2016. Positive word of mouth brought it more screens in the following days, and it went on to become a hit.

Reception

The Hindu gave it three and a half stars out of five and called it a rare, razor-sharp cop film that hardly strikes a false note. Idlebrain gave it three out of five and said it broke many Telugu stereotypes while never boring the audience despite its serious story. The Times of India was less impressed, giving it two out of five and finding it long and humourless.
