What is Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya about?

Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is a Telugu comedy-drama about a photographer whose attempt to stop a quarrel ends in public humiliation. Satyadev Kancharana plays Uma Maheswara Rao, also called Mahesh. He wants revenge, but the premise also places his work, relationships and everyday village life around that grievance.

The film is set in Araku and is a Telugu remake of the Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram. Contemporary release coverage describes the change of setting from the original’s Idukki backdrop. This is a spoiler-light introduction, not a firsthand review or a summary of the ending.

Cast and creative credits

Alongside Satyadev, the cast includes Naresh, Suhas, Raghavan, Hari Chandana Koppisetti, Roopa Koduvayur and Ravindra Vijay. The film reference identifies Naresh as Babji, Suhas as Korra Suhas and Roopa Koduvayur as Jyothi. Netflix’s listing uses “V. K. Naresh” and “Suhas P”; the linked catalogue profiles use Naresh and Suhas.

Venkatesh Maha directed the film and wrote its screenplay. Bijibal composed the music, Appu Prabhakar handled cinematography and Ravi Teja Girijala edited it. The catalogue connects the director and five existing cast profiles to their other recorded films; it does not imply that those filmographies are complete.

Original Netflix release and current access

The film premiered directly on Netflix on 30 July 2020. The News Minute’s report published that day confirms its arrival on the service. This is the original digital debut, not a claim of a theatrical opening or uninterrupted streaming since then.

The official Netflix title page identifies the 2020 film and lists Telugu original audio with English and Hindi subtitles. However, our public-page check returned a notice that the title is not available to watch in the checking server’s country. The India path in that URL does not prove that the server was treated as being in India.

Current playback is therefore unconfirmed. Check the listing while signed in from your own country before paying for access. We did not test paid playback, and the regional notice does not establish either worldwide removal or availability elsewhere. The catalogue’s 135-minute runtime comes from the film reference, not a playback measurement.
