What the story is about

Komurayya, the lively elderly patriarch of a family in a Telangana village, dies suddenly. His grandson Sayilu is secretly deep in debt, his sons are locked in an ego tussle, and the family’s old rifts resurface during the funeral rites. When a crow refuses to touch the food left out for Komurayya’s soul on the third day, a sign that his soul is not at peace, the village demands that the family set things right. OTTplay describes the film as built around a universal theme, death, and the way it brings a family’s fault lines to the surface.

The Hindu called it hilarious and poignant, an indie-style drama that holds a mirror to fractured family ties. The Indian Express described it as “an honest slice of life story from rural Telangana”. OTTplay reported that it was made for less than ₹3 crore and grossed over ₹15 crore in the Telugu states in three weeks. The film won the Telangana Gaddar Film Award for Best Feature Film, and Priyadarshi and Sudhakar Reddy won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor at the Swedish International Film Festival 2023, according to Wikipedia.
