Shatamanam Bhavati (శతమానంభవతి, also spelled Sathamanam Bhavati, “may you live a hundred years”) is a 2017 Telugu family drama written and directed by Satish Vegesna and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations. It stars Sharwanand, Anupama Parameswaran, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha, with music by Mickey J. Meyer. It released for Sankranti on 14 January 2017 and won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
What the story is about
Raghavaraju is a farming landlord in Atreyapuram, a village in Andhra Pradesh, who lives in his ancestral home with his wife Janakamma, his nephew Bangarraju’s family and his grandson Raju. His own three children have settled with their families in the United States, Canada and Australia and have not come home in ten years. One Sankranti they all suddenly return after receiving an email from their father saying he wants to divorce their mother. While the family tries to work out what is going on, Raju and his cousin Nithya, visiting from Australia, fall for each other. The film is about joint family against nuclear family, tradition against modern life, and what parents mean to children who have moved away.
